Does Makeup Cause Wrinkles?

does-makeup-cause-wrinklesAll too often, when we have a blemish – whether it be a zit or a wrinkle – we try and cover it up with makeup. It’s understandable why we do this, but is it possible we might be making the problem worse?

Does Makeup Cause Wrinkles?
Ever notice that how sometimes the women who wear the most makeup also have the most wrinkles? Does that mean that their makeup is causing it?

Well, I think it would be premature for us to speculate one way or another without a conclusive study being done. But what can be said is that our skin absorbs what comes in contact with it. It’s not far fetched to think that maybe – just maybe – all that makeup we slather on our faces which is loaded up with oil, petroleum, and all kinds of other artificial and refined gunk may be making it worse. Common sense alone tells me that it can’t be good for our skin. But is it causing wrinkles? To be honest, I can’t answer that, and like I said without clinical studies to prove this, it’s hard to know 100% for sure one way or another.

Another important point to make too is that if makeup is covering the skin, then how can the eye cream be properly absorbed? I feel that using both together is a conflict.

I’ve Switched To Pure Minerals Makeup
Lately, I’ve switched to those which are mineral based. We’ve all seen the late night infomercials out there for Bare Minerals Makeup.

Are they a perfect solution? Probably not. But I do feel they are better than using the artificial crap we put on our faces.Regardless, I think it’s always best to wear as little as possible. That way your skin can breathe and can absorb the nutrients found in creams. Remember… less is more!
